Must-Haves | Breastfeeding Books

In the first of our series, Mama Must-Haves, we'll share some of our favorite products to educate, inspire and support you in your breastfeeding journey.

Sometimes we feel like a broken record, but this bears repeating: the best way to ensure a positive breastfeeding experience and successful breastfeeding relationship is to educate yourself prior to breastfeeding.

The best way to do this is to take a prenatal breastfeeding course, which will dive into the most important things you need to know about breastfeeding, your body and your baby and get down to the nitty gritty of how to breastfeed properly. Our Breastfeeding Basics course is designed to provide you with all of the information you need to know to get off to a good start and successfully reach your breastfeeding goals. We provide evidence-based information, practical suggestions and breastfeeding tips in an easy-to-digest format that you can work through on your own time.

Another great way to take education into your own hands (literally) is to read a breastfeeding book (or four) while you're pregnant. There are a ton of great books out there that provide clear and easy-to-follow information as well as answers to the questions you'll often seek as a breastfeeding mom. Though, it's important to keep in mind: reading these books should complement (and be supplemental to) taking an actual class. There are just some things you need visuals to fully digest.

And, a final caveat: as with all books - especially those on parenting - not everything in each of these books will resonate with you. That's okay. Take what feels right and leave the rest. You'll be surprised by how empowering it is to begin to make parenting choices before baby arrives!

Now, without further ado, we've rounded up some of our favorite breastfeeding books to get you started. Have you read any of these books? Which are your favorites? Let us know in the comments below!
