Gift Guide | Expecting Moms

Love this guide? We've got a mama-to-be giveaway with some of the brands going on right now on Instagram! Good luck!

Well, here we are, just a few days away from Thanksgiving, and we all know what that means, right? The holidays are right around the corner!

We're super excited for the holidays and everything that comes along with them - family time, gift wrapping, menorah lighting, hanging garland and wreaths and lights, and cuddling up cozy by the fire with some hot chocolate and cookies. And we're also super excited to begin holiday shopping for those we love.

While gifts are, of course, not the only way to celebrate the holidays, they can be a special way to show someone you're thinking about them and you care about them. But we all get busy (#momlife), especially around this time of year, so we've created a few gift guides for you to help simplify your shopping experience.

We'll start off today with two gift guides. First, we're delivering a gift guide specifically for expecting moms - those beautiful pregnant ladies in your life - and sharing some of our favorite items to help make pregnancy and those early postpartum days comfortable. And check out our gift guide for new babies right here. Keep an eye out for more gift guides coming in the next few weeks - we've got you covered!

Helpful Books

We try to be very careful of which books we recommend expecting moms read while pregnant. There are so many books out there, and they are not all created equally. A few books we really love to recommend to mamas-to-be are Nurture, The Mayo Clinic Guide to Healthy Pregnancy, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, The Pregnancy BookThe Birth Book and The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding

Baby Wrap

Babywearing is an incredibly beneficial - to mom and baby - practice that's especially helpful in the fourth trimester when baby is first adjusting to life outside of the womb. Our favorites are the Solly Baby WrapWildbird slingSakura Bloom onbuhimo and Happy Baby carrier.

Maternity Basics

While it can be fun to buy new maternity clothing for your pregnancy, it's really not necessary to load up on pregnancy-specific pieces. To get the most bang for your buck, focus on getting a few well-made basics that can last you through seasons - from winter to spring to summer and from pregnant to postpartum. We love the Storq basics bundle and Blanqi leggings.

Pregnancy Pillow

As your belly grows, it can become challenging to get into a super comfy sleep position (and stay asleep without running to the bathroom a few times a night). While a pregnancy pillow won't help your bladder, it will help you get comfortable and feel supported for a good night's rest. We love the Snoogle pillow.

Cool Diaper Bag

Okay, there's nothing not cool about a diaper bag, but sometimes we don't want to carry around a bag that looks so much like a diaper bag. Enter diaper bag backpacks. There are some great ones out now that are super beautiful, incredibly practical and functional and allow you use of both hands (yes!). Our favorites are Whirlwind Bags and Leader Bag Co.

Breast Comfort Packs

File these under 'things you don't realize you need until you desperately need them.' We believe every mom needs these in her arsenal for the first few days postpartum. They're super comforting, help relieve any pain from engorgement and will ease those first few breastfeeding days. Our favorites are from Li'l Buds in this gorgeous peony pattern exclusively sold at Deck & Oar

Belly Balm

Our bodies are seriously incredible. We can grow humans inside of us. But with great power comes great responsibility, right? It's important that we take care of our bodies - inside and outside - while we're nourishing human life. We love using pregnancy-safe and natural belly balms and salves to keep our bodies hydrated and comfortable as our bellies grow. We absolutely love this Belly Butter (along with literally everything else they make) from MinErbs.

Motherhood Mug

She may not have delivered her baby yet, but she's 100% part of the Motherhood Club. Celebrate (and remind) her with an awesome mug she'll use to sip her daily coffee or tea. We think this one from Deck & Oar is super cute.
